March 5th - 9th, 2018

Note: Some courses begin on March 3rd or 4th.

LEAP Week is a one-week mini-term during which groups of students and faculty explore a specific topic, project, or adventure. Course offerings focus on the arts, community service, cultural immersion, personal challenges, and core areas of study. LEAP Week celebrates a young adult's opportunity to develop a passion and explore opportunities outside of a traditional classroom.

LEAP Week programs are small, intimiate, focused, and unique. Small group sizes allow for relationships to develop with students and faculty. Course offerings are designed to reflect student interest as well as faculty passions.

Course Categories & Catalogs

LEAP Week courses may overlap categories. Please click on the following categories to learn more about the courses being offered in those areas of study.

Courses designated with this symbol: Θ indicate the course has a sleep-away component.

The Arts – Arts are languages that cut across racial, social, and educational barriers while enhancing cultural appreciation. In addition, art based programs integrate mind, body, and spirit. Students are able to create a seamless connection between motivation to learn, instruction being taught, and the opportunity to experience processes from beginning to end.

Mission – Students work directly with community service programs, such as Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Habitat for Humanity, and food banks, who serve those in need (needs that can result from socioeconomic, physical or environmental challenges).

Cultural Immersion – Students have the opportunity to travel within the United States of America. These programs provide students with the opportunity to learn through living history, cultural presentations, and tours.

Personal Challenge – Students are able to challenge themselves by exploring real versus perceived challenges and the ways in which to make themselves the best that they can be.

Core Study – These courses focus on targeted areas of study and are subject specific.
