Arts at Marianapolis

At Marianapolis, students can investigate, create, and appreciate art. Here, teachers encourage individual creative expression, practice of specific techniques, communication with the public through exhibitions and performances, and appreciation of various forms. Courses provide recognition of the role of art in history and in
contemporary culture.

Understanding the relationship between creativity and innovation, the school equips students to approach art from multiple mediums. Students may choose from course offerings in art history, music, theater, dance, and visual art; at least 2 terms must be completed before graduation. Students for whom art is a singular passion may pursue portfolio-based Advanced Studio Art or Independent Study.
