As part of the School’s commitment to educating students in the Catholic tradition of academic excellence, Marianapolis is dedicated to protecting and conserving our world’s resources. Our planet is the only place that we know of where life exists, and we have a duty to protect it from exploitation and degradation. We are called to be responsible stewards of our environment and to ensure that the God-given beauty that surrounds us is preserved for generations to come. Further, as Pope Francis stated in his ecological encyclical, “the deterioration of the environment and of society affects the most vulnerable people on the planet:” advancing the cause of sustainability is imperative to caring for our brothers and sisters throughout the world. We pledge to meet the ecological and environmental demands of the present moment with unwavering faith, thoughtfulness, and a resolute dedication to Planet Earth.
One of the first initiatives focusing on our theme of the year, Planet Earth, was the installation of a rain garden on campus during orientation.
On Tuesday, September 3, the Marianapolis community joined together for our annual Opening of School Convocation.
