What to Pack
The school provides basic furniture such as a bed frame, mattress, desk, chair, closet and/or wardrobe. Each student will also have a small lock box to store their valuables.
Dorms have built-in heating in the winter; however, dorms do not have built-in air conditioning for the warmer months.
Each dorm has a Common Room with at least a refrigerator and microwave for students to share. For safety reasons, under no circumstance is a student permitted to cook in their room.
Dorms are also equipped with First Aid kits that are accessible via a dorm parent. Please note that, for safety reasons, students are not permitted to have any medications, vitamins, supplements, etc. in their dorm room without permission from the nurse. These items will be kept for students in the Health Center. Please email healthoffice@marianapolis.org with questions.
Connecticut has four seasons: winter, spring, summer, and fall. This may make it challenging to pack everything you need for all types of weather. When students arrive in September, it will be fall transitioning into winter. If you are a mid-year arrival, coming to campus in January, it will be winter. We encourage students to pack essentials that they can layer. We have trips to shopping plaza's on a regular basis, so students are always able to buy more clothes should they need it.
Below is a guide to help you pack; however, students are still expected to read the Student Handbook for a complete understanding of expectations.
