Field Hockey - Girls' Varsity
The girls varsity field hockey team 2024 season was an unimaginable season. This year we had
a full team with 14 girls. We were able to play games and have a successful season ending up
in the playoffs! This season we were able to have strong players that helped move our team in
the right direction. We started off the season with many new players that were thrown into the
game. However our returns were able to help our newcomers and be there to support them.
Even though we had an unexpected injury from our starting goalie Sienna Stawiecki 26’. We
had a new player Lilly Burke 28’step up and play goalie. Each player gave it their all each game
and with having minimum subs at mostly all our games they always kept a positive attitude. We
were unable to win a game this year but as a team we really did improve each game. Eventually
we were able to score at one of our home games which was truly a great memory.
Congratulations to Emma Martineau 27’ for this accomplishment.
This season truly made each player a better person on and off the field. This team was faced
with challenges throughout the season. However, we focused on staying positive and having
that opportunity to play each day. We were eager to play a game when we had the chance and
we took that to our advantage. This team improved greatly over the season and each player
should be very proud of themselves. Playing in the playoffs was a great experience for the team
and we hope to be there next year!!
The Field Hockey team would like to thank the athletic department for their support this season,
Buddy for all that he did to keep our team healthy, and to the parents for encouraging your
daughter to try their best each time they stepped on the field. Also another thank you to The
Forgues family for providing the snack bags for our away games!
