The Marianapolis Girls Varsity Basketball team enters the 2023-24 season excited to face the challenge and opportunity of its third season in NEPSAC’s Class AA. This year’s schedule is filled with games against some of the best girls basketball programs in New England. The team will blend the contributions of a trio of returning veterans and a bevy of talented young players to pursue excellence at every turn.

Senior captain and Eastern Illinois commit Alanna Phillipo headlines the crew of returning players from last year joined by returning seniors Olivia Kowalski and Lilly Belsito, both of whom have committed to college programs in sports other than basketball. All three will bring their experience, enthusiasm, and skill to the court and look to add to the Golden Knights’ history of success.

The talented group of new Knights features sophomore captain Aryanna Sheehan, joined by sophomore bigs Alexis Gasparini and Vanda Ospala, and four promising freshmen: Maeve Early, Grace Solari, Baileigh Kimball, and Sorelle Lavallee. All seven of the newcomers are eager and committed to grow together as players, people, and a basketball family throughout this year and the years to come!

Coaches Wes Howard, Saoirse Power-Cassidy, Lydia Tourtellotte, and Jordan Seward are excited to guide this group of players along their basketball journey this season, and look forward to the challenges of a AA slate.
