Soccer - Girls' Junior Varsity

Record: 7-3
League Record: 7-3

The Girls' Junior Varsity Soccer team had a successful and very enjoyable season, finishing with a winning record of 7-5.

After beginning the season with a couple of rainouts, the team, eager to finally take the field, got the season off with a bang in a 7-1 home victory against Cushing Academy. Forward Margherita Traversa Young '24 had never played a soccer game prior to that day, and had only been playing for a few weeks on the practice field, and went on to score 5 of those goals. She would go on to score 27 goals in 12 games over the course of the season. Sophomore Samantha Maurice '26 was assigned to the JV team on the expectation that the opportunity to play every minute of every game would benefit her development as a player, and she emerged at the end of the season as a dominant wing who was able to control the field and the pace of the game with great efficiency. The three senior captains, Luciana Najjar '24, Sydney Lundt '24, and Violet Torres '24 were all excellent leaders, always playing the game the right way and leading by example. And we are pleased to announce that Hannah Watson '26, who truly found her natural position as a defensive midfielder this season, will captain the JV team next season.

This was a team of great chemistry and camaraderie and without a single weak link and every single player should be proud of their accomplishments! Go Knights!
