Soccer - Boys' Junior Varsity

Record: 8-2-1

The Marianapolis boys' JV soccer team enjoyed a strong season finishing with a final record of 8-3-1. The team played incredibly hard all season and was successful due to their motivation and dedication to the game. Captains Andrew Raps and Jake McCabe provided the team with both skills and leadership, and their experience in tough spots helped the Knights pull out some tough victories against talented soccer teams. The Knight outscored their opponents 36-8 on the season due to an explosive offense and a stifling defense. The offense, led by McCabe and strikers Andre Looney and Tyler Whitely controlled the ball for most of the time during games and they helped create many opportunities for the rest of the team to score. 11 out of 13 of the Knights scored goals during the season, which demonstrates the depth and skill of the team. The defense was equally as impressive as Goalie Conor Allen gave opponents fits, only allowing 3 goals during the whole season. Raps, sweeper Szymon Mamro and backs Joe DiPietro and Nick Laflamme limited the other team's possessions all season and were key cogs in the Marianapolis machine. Coach Rainha and Coach Brooks could not have been more proud of the effort and sportsmanship displayed by the team this season.
