Cross Country - Girls' Varsity

Record: 0-1

The 2019 Cross Country Season began with a Fun Run at Noble & Greenough School in early September and ended on a very hilly course at Hebron Academy on November 9th. In between those races were long run Mondays on the rail trail, track Tuesdays on Gustavson track, and long hours riding in the Marianapolis vans. Each member of the varsity team ran an average of 350 miles this season and everyone developed abs of steel.

The girls' varsity team, headed by captains Maura Hoban '21 and Rachel Ullstrom '21, was consistently led by top performers Sydney Masciarelli '21 (with a season PR of 17 minutes 7 seconds) and Rachel Ullstrom (with a season PR of 22 minutes 3 seconds). Sydney and Rachel both earned top-twenty finishes at the NEPSTA Division 4 Championships and Sydney will be competing at Footlocker Northeast Regionals at the end of November with Sal and Zach. Rounding out the girls team were Kara Corrivea '21 (with a season PR of 23 minutes 58 seconds), Amy Wang '23 (with a season PR of 26 minutes 34 seconds), and captain Maura Hoban '21 (with a season PR of 30 minutes 40 seconds). The girls team placed 4th out of 11 teams at the NEPSTA D4 Cross Country Championships, earning a repeat performance of last year's success. Sydney also set a new course record at the Championships by almost two full minutes.
