On Friday, the Marianapolis Golden Knights made the long journey down to St. Luke's for a Class B matchup. St. Luke's has looked strong throughout the year, so MPrep was geared up for a challenge.

In the first half, the Knights met that challenge head-on. Junior Raymond Espinal-Guzman had a dominant first half, notching 14 points (including a pair of threes), 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks before the break. That performance, combined with aggressive and efficient scoring from post-grad Aaron Nkrumah, helped Marianapolis secure a 27-26 lead at the half.

Unfortunately, coming out of halftime, St. Luke's turned up the shooting in a big way, knocking down several three-pointers to drive the visiting team onto their heels. Post-grad Ali Abdel-Jalil turned in a strong performance, scoring and assisting while pulling down a half-dozen rebounds and a pair of steals in an effort to keep the home team at bay. While the Knights were able to keep the game close for the first several minutes after halftime, the balanced scoring of St. Luke's would prove too much, as the home team secured a 72-57 victory.

The Knights now sit at 6-13 (4-12 in Class B), and will finish their away weekend on Saturday afternoon at Millbrook.
