Win 68-58

Lucas Yash '20 scored a career-high 32 points, the most scored by a JV player at Marianapolis in at least four years, as the Golden Knights rallied in the second half for a wild 68-58 win over the MacDuffie School in Granby, MA.

Yash amassed 21 of his 32 points in the second half as the Golden Knights (7-5 overall) extricated themselves from a significant hole midway through the half.

Danny Moors '20 added 15 points, including three long three-pointers, while Elan Johnson '23 contributed ten important points.

On Senior Day for MacDuffie, the home team started slowly, falling behind 19-8 early.  But a protracted run that spanned the halftime, totaling 25-5, had MacDuffie ahead 33-24 with about 12 minutes remaining in the contest.

The Golden Knights calmly chipped away, hitting 12 free throws and exhibiting a variety of excellent moves to the basket, to finally take a 55-50 lead in the final five minutes.  A Moors three from the corner made it 58-50 and virtually put the game away.

Ryan Martin '20, Ethan Gosper '20, and Connor Murray '20 each delivered strong performances, especially in the second half.

After a 21-21 halftime score, the two teams combined for 84 points in the second half.

Marianapolis plays Pomfret School at home on Saturday in search of a season sweep of the Griffins.  Tip time is 11:30 AM.
