Volleyball - Girls' Varsity
Marianapolis lost a home contest against MacDuffie 3-0. Although the game saw some spectacular moments, the Knights were once again short-staffed due to illness and injury, and these changes were costly set to set.
Set one saw solid serving from C. King '21, and 4 hits, 2 kills from senior captain C. Gardiner at the middle. King and L. Lemire '23 were able to throw up blocks for points as well. 25-18 was the first outcome.
Marianapolis held on to the lead most of set two, but simply could not keep up the momentum to close the deal. J. Calkins' 11 led the team serving, while senior captain M. Wall posted 3 hits, 2 kills and King added 4 kills as well. 25-22 was the set two final.
Fresh legs in set three saw a boost in morale, but still hesitation on the net. M. Walsh '20 led behind the service line and King, Wall, and Lemire all threw down kills as well as blocks for points. 25-21 was the last tally of the match.
Marianapolis takes on Ethel Walker this Wednesday at home. Go Knights!
