The Knights had their third win of the season at home against Greens Farms Academy on Saturday. It was a physical match and the heat took its toll on both teams. The Knights opened up the scoreline with a goal from inside the eighteen. Ethan Gosper, '20, took a free kick and Nicholas Basley, '20, found the net on the rebound. This was Basley's first goal of the season. The half ended 1-0. Greens Farms responded with a goal after breaking through the defense to make it 1-1. The Knights fought back and earned a penalty after Gosper was fouled inside the box. Gosper slotted the penalty away to make it 2-1. Greens Farms fought on and put pressure on the backline. James Alves, '22, and Lucas Yash, '20, were heroic in the defense. Both players marked well and made good clearances throughout the game. Goalkeeper Ryan Martin, '20, assisted Jared O'Connor, '20, to make it 3-1 with twelve minutes to play and all but seal the Knights' victory. Notable performances included seniors Connor Murray, Aidan Cook, and Syhyoung Lee. All three defenders put in a solid day's work. Man of the Match was Nicholas Basley for opening the scoreline and providing strength to the offense throughout the match. The Knights host Concord Academy on Wednesday.
