Loss 3-1

Marianapolis fell to Pomfret on the road in four sets after a roaring comeback in the third.

Set one saw a disoriented Knights squad. With service points from A. Boria '21 and captain. J. Golden' 20, the team pushed the set to 15, but a sequence of errors held them back.

Senior captain C. Gardiner was the fuel for set two's fire, with 14 hits and a series of six loud service points that pulled the Knights into the lead at the halfway point of the set. The defense struggled to fend off a jump serve response from Pomfret, and the Knights lost 25-22.

C. King '21 and Golden were assets from the service line in set three, adding a combined 11 points including King's game-winner. Captain M. Wall '20 was hustling to set all five hitters, while M. Walsh '20 was an infusion of energy and ball control. The Knights seized set three 26-24.

The rhythm was off in the closing set. Though Wall started the team out strong behind the line, MPrep let the Pomfret servers post a few too many in a row early, and momentum shifted. 25-11 was the last set score for the afternoon.

The Knights will look to rally back on Saturday with a home contest vs. Middlesex. Go Knights!
