Soccer - Boys' Varsity
The Knights opened their first match of the season away at St. George’s School on Saturday. The team played well and kept a strong back line, but a goal at the 65th minute mark put St. George’s up 1-0. Senior goalkeeper Ryan Martin put up a strong effort and had nine saves throughout the match. Lucas Yash, ‘20, James Alves, ‘22, and Colby Pion, ‘20, also all had strong performances at the back. Ethan Gosper, ‘20, and TJ Kennison, ‘21, both had attempts on net, but could not find the back. Seniors Syhyoung Lee and Jared O’Connor put in a solid effort throughout the game. St. George’s was keen to protect their home field and worked hard to keep the offense from scoring. A goal off a corner kick made the difference in what was an even matchup throughout the day. Man of the Match was Lucas Yash who worked hard to keep the defense intact and put in a solid 90 minutes. The Knights face Suffield Academy Wednesday at home.
