Only six matches were played due to time and court constraints, and the final two contests out on the courts proved to be the ultimate difference for Marianapolis. After #1 player Shun-Yi "Brian" Chang '19 outlasted his opponent in a tight match and #2 player Gongcheng "Eason" Fu '19 also earned an impressive win, Concord Academy fought back by claiming decisive victories at third singles and first doubles. With the overall match score knotted at 2-2, the focus of both squads shifted to second and third doubles. While Torre Riancho and Hu were comfortably ahead during their match, the second doubles battle came down to the final point. Tian "Crea" Feng '19 and Tianhao "Lance" Lu '19 gamely rallied from 5-3 down to earn a 6-5 victory and avoid what would have been an unsatisfying tie for the Golden Knights. Marianapolis (2-8 overall) looks for a second straight home win on Friday against MacDuffie School before finishing the season Saturday at Cushing Academy.
