Marianapolis dropped to 1-6 this season with a tough 9-0 loss at the hands of a well-coached Concord Academy group on a great day for tennis in Eastern Massachusetts. The star of the match for the Golden Knights was Slava Beliaev '19, who played a gutsy match at sixth singles before finally bowing out to a talented opponent. At third doubles, the tandem of Mingyou "Samuel" Xu '20 and Yaozhong "Evan" Hu '19 also demonstrated noticeable improvement in a number of areas (including serve placement), despite losing their match 8-2.
The Golden Knights get some much-needed practice time because of a few days off from matches. The squad returns to competition next week with another away contest, this time back at The Rectory School on May 3rd.
