Loss 14-8

Girls' Varsity Lacrosse faced off against their longtime rival the Williams School, and it was an exciting game to say the least.

Marianapolis came out strong in the first half quickly putting two on net. One from senior Emmalyn Pickett and one from freshman Cass Belsito.  Williams answered back with two of their own but not without a fight. Junior captain Mary Wall scored on an inside shot just outside the crease and Belsito would put another on net to bring the Knights to a two point lead.  Williams kept it exciting and answered the Knights back with another two to put the the game at 4-4 at the half.

The Lady Knights came out strong in the second half quickly scoring two more goals to take the lead.  It would be goal for goal for another tie at 8-8 with a fourth goal from Belsito and one from fellow freshman Gabby Fung.

The Knights kept the tie and tried to move ahead but the Williams squad took the lead for a 14-8 final despite efforts from the Knights to rally.

Senior goalie Alyssa Morrison had another fantastic game on net saving over 16 shots and coming out to make plays happen for her squad.  Other notable stand outs were juniors Julia Kilroy, Ava Laroche Eva Dellea, and sophomore newcomer Jill Reardon, who worked tirelessly on defense and senior Emmalyn Pickett who had some amazing shots on goal and forced several turnovers at midfield.

The Knights face off again on Wednesday vs. Miss Hall's.

Go Knights!!!!
