Basketball - Girls' Junior Varsity
The Knights played a great game against Cushing Academy on Friday afternoon. They had a slow start in the beginning of the game but earned their points and came out with a 30-13 win in their second to last game of the season.
It was a close game throughout the first half. Marianapolis. led 12-10 the end of the first half. Cassandra Belsito '22 scored 8 points, out of her total 12 points, including three 3 point shots. Captain Kelly Heney '19 contributed 2 points as did fellow senior Rose Laconto. It was a physically demanding first half as the Knights stepped up their defense. Jill Reardon '21 rebounded on both sides of the court as a center and Captain Sydney Kennison '20 hustled as a guard.
It was a high scoring second half for the Knights as they made significant plays and shots. Their strong defense kept Cushing from scoring more than 3 points. Senior Kelly Heney had 2 points and fellow classmate Rose Laconto had 4 points in the second half. Caitlyn Miller '19 made a key 3 point shot and Kylie Miller '22 earned 6 points. The Knights hustled throughout the game resulting in their hard-earned win.
