Basketball - Girls' Junior Varsity
Marianapolis had an exciting game against Ethel Walker. They trailed at the half, 15-13 but came together in the end to win 31-22.
It was a slow start to the game, both teams brought strong defensive fronts. During the first half Rose Laconto ‘19 scored 9 points, out of her total 15 points, in addition to making key rebounds and turnovers. Kylie Miller ‘21 and Cassandra Belsito ‘22 also contributed points. Kelly Heney '19 led the team as one of the guards.
Marianapolis had a strong offense in the second half. Caitlyn Miller ‘19 hustled throughout the game and led the team as one of the point guards. Cassandra Belsito '22, contributed 12 points, out of her total 14 points. Elizabeth Walker '22 assisted with several defensive plays as one of the centers and Jill Reardon ‘21 had 15 rebounds throughout the course of the game. Sydney Kennison ‘20 and Jenna Olivieri ‘21 made key defensive plays including rebounds on both sides. Marianapolis's press in the final minutes allowed them to score the points that they needed to solidify their lead.
With four games remaining in the season, the Knights are looking forward to continuing to work together as a team. Great work!
