Basketball - Girls' IIIs
The Marianapolis Girls' IIIs team traveled to Eagle Hill and won 25-18.
The Lady Knights took the lead early in the first half. Freshmen Sophia Rabitor applied great defensive pressure on the other team and forced multiple turnovers throughout the game. Sophomores Jazz Creighton and Morgan Polinski drove to the hoop a few times drawing the fouls from Eagle Hill, and both had a three to keep the Knights on top. It was a close score at half, with the Lady Knights having a slight advantage over Eagle Hill.
During the second half, the Lady Knights kept the lead despite Eagle Hill's attempt at a comeback. Senior Hanna Scheffler won the majority of defensive rebounds for the Lady Knights, and Freshmen Johnna Romanek and Payton Booth helped both some offensive and defensive rebounds. Junior Olivia Pisegna kept our offense alive both by cheering on her teammates, and continuously making cuts on offense. The final score was 25-18.
Point Totals: Creighton: 4 points, Polinski: 6 points, Rabitor: 2 points, Scheffler: 4 points, Booth: 4 points, and Pisegna: 5 points.
