Win 24-18

The Girls' IIIs team fought a tough home battle with the MacDuffie Mustangs earning a 24-18 victory.

The Lady Knights came out strong in the first half. Sophomore Morgan Polinski put the Lady Knights on the board after dribbling down the court and making the team's first layup. The girls continued to play a tight defense on the Mustangs. Senior Hanna Scheffler and senior Katie Joiner worked well down low on offense and defense grabbing the rebounds. Freshmen Kaya Lukasek and Olivia Duquette worked hard and applied defensive pressure to the Mustangs.  Additionally, the Lady Knights had an impressive press break leading to a Joiner basket. The first half ended with the Knights up 14-5.

The MacDuffie Mustangs made a comeback in the second half, scoring a quick couple of baskets to bring them within a few points of the Knights. It is then through the offensive leadership of junior Olivia Pisegna and sophomore Jazz Creighton that the Knights were able to rejuvenate their offense. Freshmen Sophia Rabitor pulled a play out of the tricks playbook and attempted a no look shot, which came close to making it in the basket. Freshmen Johnna Romanek and Payton Booth also were able to contribute to the Lady Knight's offense in the second half. The Lady Knights were able to hold off the Mustangs with the final score of 24-18, overall a very close battle between the two teams.

Point Totals: Polinski: 3 points,  Creighton: 7 points, Scheffler: 4 points, Joiner: 2 points, Rabitor: 4 points, Romanek: 2 points, Booth: 2 points.

The Lady Knights look forward to taking the day off on Monday, and getting back to work to prepare for their game on Friday against Eagle Hill. Go Knights!
