The wrestling team went to Tabor Academy to wrestle in the Battle on the Bay wrestling tournament for the first time. Only 6 wrestlers were able to compete but Marianapolis competed well against some of the best teams in New England. Over 30 teams were represented in the toughest early season tournament in the area and the Golden Knights walked away with some hardware.

At 120 Captain Cam Alicandro lost his first match to be knocked out of the championship round but then followed that up with three quick pins to secure a 5th place finish and raised his season mark to 12-2. Evan Lundt entered the tournament at 126 and after a tough first round loss to a defending New England Prep place winner lost a heart breaking overtime match 19-17.  At 138, Nick Basley lost his first match but atoned for the loss with a second period pin in his second match. Szymon Mamro dropped down to 145 for the first time this season but found a tough go of it at one of the toughest weight classes in the tournament. He will certainly find more success as he get accustomed to the weight.

Brendan Donegan bumped up to 152 and surprised the entire tournament with a huge win while giving up close to 10 pounds. Unluckily, his win earned him a match against the defending New England Champ and then a New England place winner knocked him out of the tournament. The last competitor was Alex Stawiecki at 170. He had two great matches but ended up on the losing ends of both.  His consistent improvement will surely mean success the next time he sees those opponents.
