Wrestling - Co-Ed Varsity
The Wrestling team hosted Williston Northampton School and Lexington Christian Academy. Due to low numbers the trimeet was configured in a round robin format but the meets were scored normally.
Marianapolis won the meet against Williston by a score of 36-6. Junior Nick Basely and sophomore Brendan Donegan notched their first victories of the year with exciting first period pins and Senior Ryan Zhou picked up an exciting pin on the edge of the mat as well.
Against LCA, Marianapolis lost a tough meet 24-30 as LCA had more wrestlers who picked up uncontested forfeits that added to their score. The Golden Knights highlights included another quick pin by Captain Cameron Alicandro at 120 and a first career win by Evan Lundt at 126. The Knights could not keep the momentum rolling though the mid weights as junior Alex Staweicki and freshman Syzmon Mamro fell in tough matches.
This young and inexperienced team has huge potential and will definitely avenge some of these losses as the season progresses. Great Job Knights!
