Win 59-49

On Wednesday afternoon, the Golden nights squared off against Class A's Williston Northampton. Marianapolis was looking to wash away the foul taste of an underwhelming outing in their last game, and come out of the gates with a great deal of intensity.

The start of the game was defined by the Knights' ability to draw fouls and get to the line. The team took fifteen free throws in the first half, led by senior captain Steph Baxter's nine. They maintained this aggression on the other side of the floor as well, notching six steals before the break. Senior Kevin Le was a force on the backboards, hauling in six of his nine in the first half to help maintain the momentum. Senior Owen Soontjens found his shooting stroke, knocking down five shots in the first half, including a pair of threes. Marianapolis went into halftime up, 34-26.

In the second frame, the Knights were able to keep their foot on the gas, behind a fantastic performance from senior captain Tyler Burton, who threw down a few thunderous dunks on his way to twenty-six points and thirteen rebounds (with a pair of steals and a block). It was a complete performance from the entire team that helped lift MPrep to a 59-49 victory.

Marianapolis is now 2-1 on the year (1-1 in Class B) and will face off against Millbrook this Saturday.
