Elijah Edwards scored 26 points and Northfield Mount Hermon demonstrated an amazing display of long-range marksmanship in handing Marianapolis its first loss of the season - 71-47 - at Thompson, CT.
Northfield played a tremendous all-around game for all 32 minutes in avenging an earlier 60-53 loss to Marianapolis. Milo Magnani added 14 points and had three of the team's thirteen (13) three-point field goals. The visitors, unbelievably, made more threes than twos in the game.
Ehmil Johnson '21 led the way for the Golden Knights (5-1) with 14 points, while Kualim Johnson '21 added nine. Sean-Patrick Houssan '21, Ethan Gosper '20, and Patrick Sabourin '20 all got into the scorebook in the final minutes for Marianapolis, which trailed 34-23 at the half.
Northfield shot 71 percent from the free-throw line while Marianapolis struggled at 33 percent (7 of 21).
The Golden Knights must regroup and put together three good practices in preparation for home games Friday night (Wilbraham and Monson) and Saturday (Worcester Academy).
