Kualim Johnson '21 tallied 18 points and Ryan Martin '20 added 10 as Marianapolis played its most complete game of the year in defeating Worcester Academy 72-37 in the final game of a five-game homestand for the Golden Knights.
Johnson, Martin, and Ehmil Johnson '21 each scored eight in the first half to help Marianapolis take a 39-20 lead into the break.
All year, the Golden Knights had been unable to play two strong halves within a single game, and this was the coaching point in the pregame talk. The boys responded against Worcester with a phenomenal second-half effort to extend the lead right from the beginning. Connor Murray '20, Ethan Gosper '20, and Aidan Cook '20 combined for 14 second-half points on a variety of drives and long-distance shots to help keep Worcester at bay.
The Golden Knights (6-1 overall) look to have a competitive week of practice prior to their next game (Saturday 12:00 at Governor's Academy).
