The Golden Knights got off a slow start, and Thayer took a 16-9 lead within the first 8 minutes of the game.
Big shots by Senior, Olivia Summiel, and Sophomore, Rachel Ullstrom partnered with team defensive stops late in the first half allowed the Knights to regain the lead, along with the control of the game, and they headed into the half with a 31-18 lead.
The Knights came out aggressive in the second half and Junior guard, Lena Benway went on a 6-0 run to give MPrep a 20 point lead.
Thayer made a run midway through the second half, cutting the lead to just 10 points with 6 minutes to play. Strong leadership from all three senior captains, Olivia Summiel, Chyna Bullen, and Kara O’Neil allowed the Knights to hold on to the lead, and finish the game with a strong win.
Senior Captain, Olivia Summiel had an impressive 18 points and 8 rebounds, Sophomore, Rachel Ullstrom finished with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals, and Junior, Lena Benway added 9 points and 4 assists!
