Cross Country - Girls' Varsity
On November 10th, Marianapolis hosted the NEPSTA Division 4 Cross Country Championships, attended by 41 schools from across New England. It was the muddiest race of the entire year after all the rain we received this week!
The first race of the day was girls varsity with 121 competitors. In first place overall and first for the team was Sydney Masciarelli '21 with a time of 17:51, the current course record. In second for the team and 14th overall was Rachel Ullstrom '21 (23:42), followed in 31st place by Olivia Panagiotou '19 (25:22), Captain Molly Romprey '19 in 53rd place (26:51), Sarah Zhang '20 in 98th place (31:05), Kiersten Haviland '21 in 114th place (33:31) and finally Maura Hoban '21 in 116th place (34:32). The team placed fourth out of 14 scoring teams.
Though the season has ended for most of the team, a few members of the varsity team will continue on to the All-Star race held by St. Mark's School in Southborough on November 17th. From there, Sydney Masciarelli will head to Footlocker Northeast Regional Championships on November 24th at Van Cortlandt Park in New York.
