Soccer - Girls' Varsity
It was a tough matchup on Wednesday as the varsity soccer team faced off against the New Hampton School. It was senior day for the Golden Knights, who celebrated Anna Bagley, Laney Cashman, Alyssa Morrison, Emma Pickett, and Jimena Solis.
The first half was well contested, with both teams having some strong opportunities and both defenses getting the job done. Neither team could get the first goal that would help build the momentum. Sophomore Jill Reardon had a strong game in the back, helping anchor the defensive efforts.
The second half was mostly a mirror of the first, with both teams putting forth their best efforts but neither able to convert. With just over 12 minutes left, New Hampton was able to score on a corner. The Knights, however, were undeterred, and continued attacking and making great efforts in the closing minutes. Unfortunately, they were unable to capitalize on any chances and the lone goal from New Hampton stood. Alyssa Morrison had 22 saves in the game.
