Soccer - Girls' Varsity
The girls' varsity soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss at Dexter Southfield today. The team came out with good energy but were outmatched by a fast and skilled opponent. Dexter got on the board quickly which caused the Knights to play a bit defensively. However, they held their own and prevented the other team from scoring for the next twenty minutes. The home team was awarded a free kick after a foul right outside the box which was converted, taking the score to 2-0 heading into the half. The Knights returned to the field looking to generate some offense but Dexter struck twice more quickly which depleted the Knights' confidence. Despite the score, the entire team fought hard and had a few moments of some very good looking soccer. The team will be back in action tomorrow for their final game away at Portsmouth Abby with a 3pm kickoff.
