Soccer - Girls' Varsity
The girls’ varsity soccer team was pleased to earn a 2-0 victory over Ethel Walker. Walker controlled the tempo for much of the first half and forced some sloppy and scattered play from the home team. With about 10 minutes remaining in the half A. Bagley ‘19 worked her way through the middle and sent a rocket at the net. While the original shot narrowly missed, M. Summiel ‘22 crashed the goal and perfectly placed the rebound, putting the Knights up by one just before halftime.
Returning to the field, the Knights’ saw some great play from both E. McQuiston ‘21 and A. Balducci ‘22. Their speed and aggressiveness caused a shift in momentum and presented the home team some exciting offensive chances early in the second half. Eventually, A. Howell ‘22 was able to capitalize and put the Knights ahead by 2 with 20 minutes to play. Both teams continued to fight and each had a few more opportunities up front, but ultimately the Knights were able to keep the visitors at bay and walked away with a 2-0 victory. Next up is a trip to Worcester Academy on Saturday with kickoff at 11am.
