On Sunday, October 7th, the Marianapolis crew team journeyed to Worcester to embark upon a successful day of racing. Lake Quinsigamond is the most popular racing course for rowing teams across New England, and it was an honor to join the hundreds of athletes and spectators who made the day great!
The Women's' 1st Varsity 4+ roared down the course, with rowers L. Mayen '21, M. Brooks '19, L, Mueller '22, and D. Collette ’19, coxed by C. Rabines '19. The girls came in 9th overall for high schools, and also shaved off time compared to their previous race, finishing this race in 20:52 as opposed to last week's 22:12... they beat their time by an astonishing 1 minute and 20 seconds! These girls are on fire!
Overall, it was a beautiful day to be out on the water rowing, cheering from the docks on land, or eating burgers in the tent on the grass. A shoutout to J. Mobley '22 for his excellent first race. We would also like to thank the families and friends who came out to support us and feed us. Coaches and athletes alike value the engagement.
The team looks forward to our final race of the season at the New Hampshire Championships next Sunday.
