Marianapolis took on Beaver Country Day School for their second ever home game. The Knights came out playing tough and working hard to keep the game scoreless. With about 15 minutes left to go in the first half, Beaver opened up the scoring with a hard shot to the left corner of the goal. Not too long after they put another ball in, going up 2-0. The Knights had a few opportunities on goal, but couldn’t capitalize. As time ran out, Beaver scored off a corner to go into halftime up 3-0. Sophomore Tola Ajayi-Obe had 4 saves in net for the Knights in the first half. Marianapolis looked to regroup and come out strong in the second half. They had a solid start to the half, putting pressure on the Beaver defense, but unable to get on the scoreboard. Beaver had a few more chances at the Knights' net and put one more in to end the game 4-0. Sophomore Lily Givner was in net for the Knights in the second half and had a total of 5 saves. Sophomore Grace McGovern had a great game in the midfield, helping to get the ball to the forwards as well as playing tough defense. Senior Rahmat Obanikoro held strong at sweeper, leading the defensive effort for the Knights. MPrep will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Hamden Hall on Saturday to take on the Hornets.
