Volleyball - Girls' IIIs
JV Maroon had a strong start to the match against the Suffield Tigers at home with excellent serves and ball handling. Maroon held their first strong lead of the season during the first set and were able to build momentum due to a very loud and supportive fan base. They were toppled by a strong server from Suffield who ended the match with a 13 point service run, losing 25-15. Between sets, the girls were very supportive of the girls who had been on the floor and showed true team spirit in making sure everyone was ready to get back out there in the second set.
The second set started with a 5 point run from Suffield but the Knights were able to rally and return the ball to stop Suffield's momentum. The Knights saw great game play and ball control from Captain I. Gonzalez, ‘21, and sophomore S. Soares, ‘21, but dropped the second set 25-10.
Even with the loss, the Knights were able to play the game with lots of spirit and commitment. They look forward to a week off to work on ball handling and serving before preparing for their next game during Parent and Family Weekend.
