Loss 3-1

The MPrep Golden Knights battled against the Pomfret Griffins on Sat 9/22 and ended with a score of 3-1, with the Griffins for the win.

Despite the ending score, the JV squad had a fantastic game of soccer.  The team was finally beginning to gel and saw some great ball movement from freshmen Ashlyn Giorgio, Claire Kelleher and Morgan Beaudreault at defense and midfield.

On attack, Kaya Lukasek, '22, Melania Marrufo, '21, and Sophia Rabitor, '22 had several shots on goal.  Ball movement downfield was also created by low defender, sophomore Jill Reardon.

With the teams starting goalie sidelined with an injury, sophomore Kylie Miller stepped in the net for her first game and had a great showing, taking shots from the Griffins and holding them at bay for most of the first half.

The Golden Knights square off away against Barrington Christian next Wednesday and close the week with their first home game vs St. Andrews on Friday.
