Soccer - Boys' Junior Varsity
The Marianapolis Boys JV soccer team continues their hot start moving to 3-0 on the year by defeating Greens Farm Academy 2-1. The Knights scored early in the game as Cam Alicandro, ‘19, put the ball past the goalie after a long free kick from Pedro Algret ‘19. The Dragons answered back shortly after and the game remained tied 1-1 for a good chunk of the half. With 1 minute left on the clock, striker Andre Looney, ‘21, capitalized on a defensive error and scored putting the Knights up 2-1 entering the half. The second half was a tough battle and the Golden Knights held on, limiting the Dragons' scoring opportunities for the rest of the game. Goalie Brian Chokshi, ‘19, enjoyed another strong day in the net, and the defense continued to play well. Left Back Ryan Barnwell, ‘20, stood out from a defensive standpoint and freshman right back Syzmon Mamro displayed great hustle all game.
The Knights will try to move to 4-0 next Wednesday against Concord Academy.
