In their first game of the season, against Rectory School, Thirds soccer fell 1-0. The first half saw the Knights in possession of the ball more than half the time and putting a lot of pressure on the Rectory defense. In the midfield, Keegan McLeod, '22, showed his speed and played a big role in our movement upfield. Thirds veterans Connor McLeod, '21, Doyoon Kim, '20, and Ben Kules, '20, played their hearts out at defense, midfield and striker respectively. Some new players, Matthew Tomasino, '22, Pat Martineau, '22, Declan O’Connor, '22, and Charlie Shamback, '22, proved to be dedicated and hard working players that were excellent representatives for Marianapolis during the match. Tim Hall, '22, made an unbelievable save while playing his heart out on defense. Without him stepping in Rectory would almost definitely have scored another goal. The player of the game is Goalie Connor Allen, '21, who had an absolutely incredible game, making some wild saves and really keeping MPrep in the game. Coach Smith and Coach Hendrickson are very proud of the guys and see this as a promising start to another great season of Thirds Soccer.
