Lexi Delano '21 Leads with Purpose in Science and Service
Marianapolis alumna Lexi Delano ’21 is a true reflection of what it means to lead with heart, curiosity, and intention. Delano graduated Magna Cum Laude as a member of the Class of 2025 from Providence College. She received her B.S. in Biology with a minor in Business & Innovation and a concentration in Applied Science.
Delano has been recognized for her academic achievements and her impact beyond the classroom. She received the Robert I. Krasner Award for her excellence in teaching and leadership inside and outside of the classroom, as well as the Emerging Leader Award in 2023. Most recently, Delano was honored with the Sharon L. Hay Student Leader of the Year Award in 2025, which celebrated her as a standout leader on campus.
Her dedication to service and scholarship has also earned her membership in several prestigious honor societies, including Alpha Epsilon Delta (pre-health professions), the Dirigo Honor Society for leadership, and the Sigma Xi Research Honor Society, which recognizes scientific research excellence.
Delano is currently serving as a Clinical Research Assistant in the Pediatric Endocrinology Department at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. She is taking two gap years to gain hands-on experience and prepare for the MCAT. In June 2026, she will apply to medical school to pursue her goal of becoming a doctor specializing in pediatric oncology.
Delano credits Marianapolis as the foundation of her academic journey and her passion for leadership: "All of my aspirations to pursue leadership roles at Providence College were because of Marianapolis. My experience at Marianapolis was incredible, and I wanted to find similarities before growing and expanding my education even more.” Her time in the Marianapolis science program sparked a love of biology that continues to drive her ambitions in healthcare.
Congratulations, Lexi! We are so proud to watch your journey unfold and cannot wait to see the impact you will make in the world of medicine and beyond.
