Knights of the Week - 1/22/17

Danielle Mahlert '18

The first ever Marianapolis swim team would like to recognize Danielle "Dani" Mahlert '18 as "Knight of the Week".  Her coaches note that she "is always ready to push herself to the next level".  Even during practice, Dani consistently puts forth her best to better her abilities for her own sake and that of the team.  This drive and her ability to put the team first, made her willing to try back-to-back events and then finish strong with a third event. These contributions along with her support of her teammates and a positive attitude have earned her the award of "Knight of the Week". Congratulations Dani!

Owen O'Connell '17

As a senior, Owen O'Connell sets an example for the younger runners and throwers on the Indoor Track and Field team about what it is to be a good teammate, coachable athlete, and positive supporter.  He completes with great tenacity and focus as he is an integral member of the relay team and a diligent 50yard/ 55 yard dasher.  Even when unable to participate due to injury, Owen could be seen on the sidelines encouraging his teammates and lending a helping hand to his coaches.  He is an excellent team player who is composed when running and enthusiastic when supporting teammates.  This week's "Knight of the Week" goes to a well-deserving Owen O'Connell. Congratulations!
