Knights of the Week - 11/6/17

Kortney Drew '18

Senior Kortney Drew has finished her senior season with an admirable passion and perseverance at outside hitter. Her aggression on the net and her finesse saving tips and blocks has saved countless points for the Knights. A quiet leader, Kortney sets an example for younger teammates of what it truly means to be a student-athlete. Her characteristic combination of optimism and competitiveness have made her an end of year standout for the varsity volleyball team. Kortney has made great contributions to the volleyball program over her time at Marianapolis and she is a fitting choice to be named one of this week’s “Knights of the Week!" Congratulations!

Johann Vennink '21

Hard working, improving, and great teammate describe freshman Johann Vennink on the boys’ cross country team. From day one, he gives his best in practice and at meets without any complaint. Coach Gaudet comments, “On Tuesdays we run mile repeats, and he has improved a minute and a half on his mile time! His improvement over the course of the season has been outstanding.” Johann not only looks for his personal improvement, but encourages and supports everyone on the team to reach their highest potential. Johann has had a great cross country season and he is well-deserving of being named one of this week’s “Knights of the Week.” Congratulations!
