Winter Athletic Awards 21-22

Marianapolis winter athletics teams gathered virtually on March 8 to celebrate their season and announce the winter sports awards recipients.

Assistant Athletic Director Anthony Gibson kicked off the ceremony by thanking the athletes and their families for their commitment and strength in a season marked by change.

“I would like to begin by expressing my appreciation to the student athletes and to families for being flexible and patient with everything this season,” Gibson said.

The coaches went on to echo the sentiments of perseverance and strength in praising their teams.

“Aside from their competitive accomplishments, this team was remarkable in how they supported each other as wrestlers and individuals” Wrestling Head Coach Chris Miller said. “They worked hard in practice every day and pushed each other to get better.”

“These 11 student athletes, ranging from freshmen to postgraduates, learned to work as a team and find new ways to make a positive impact, whether it be on the basketball court, classroom, at home, or in the dorms,” Interim Boys’ Varsity Basketball Head Coach Tommy DiCollela said.
