Virtual Public Health Guest Speaker - Fiona Chou
On Monday, October 21, Marianapolis Health Science Centers of Excellence students welcomed virtual guest speaker Fiona Chou. Fiona, a senior at Taft School, shared her innovative work in founding a Public Health Club at Taft two years ago and her recent creation of an inter-school Youth Public Health Association.
Fiona outlined the association's priorities, which include Education, Community Engagement, and Fundraising, and shared photos from some sample events held at Taft and surrounding areas. Fiona extended a warm welcome to Marianapolis, and our students in attendance left encouraged and enthusiastic about starting a chapter of the association here in Thompson.
We hope to participate in future association events such as guest speaker sessions and an inter-school health advocacy campaign and plan to explore partnering with Fiona and other high school youth from participating schools.
