The Knightly News on WINY - January 28
Our MPrep Indoor Track & Field team has been experiencing great growth this season! Thank you, Head Coach Alex Meszaro and track stars Luke L. ‘26 and Keegan P. ‘27, for going live on the airwaves to highlight how the season is going, your favorite/most challenging events, and why you enjoy this sport so much.

“All the athletes are doing well,” says Coach Meszaro. “We are a young team, which I’m super happy about because there is a lot of room for everyone to grow.”

Luke’s favorite and most challenging event he participates in is pole vault. You might have already heard that he currently holds the school record!

“It’s definitely something different,” shares Luke. “It’s not something we’re meant to do, so when you start, it doesn’t feel right, but once you get into it, it’s easier.”

Keegan’s main events are the 200m and 400m races.

“The 200 is just a nice and short race where you can get a lot of speed, and it’s just long enough that it doesn’t feel like a 100, and you’re not getting beaten by these ridiculously tall, fast sprinters,” says Keegan. “The 400 is actually one of the first events to have a strategy to them.”

We wish the team the best of luck in the rest of their season!
