Over $58,000 Raised in 40th Annual Golf Tournament

Over $58,000 Raised in 40th Annual Golf Tournament

For the 40thyear in a row, Marianapolis Prep held its annual Golf Tournament in which proceeds support the financial aid program for deserving students. The tournament, held at Connecticut National Golf Club on September 10, raised over $58,000.

As has become tradition at the tournament, current students were present to greet golfers and deliver clubs to carts as a way of saying thanks. The Marianapolis Golden Knight even made an appearance for some high-five encouragement before the shotgun start. The excitement of the day was palpable as alumni, current and former parents, and community members joined the School for this annual tradition.

“With this year being the 40thgolf tournament, the longevity of the event is a true testament to the dedication the golfers and sponsors have to the School. I cannot thank everyone enough for the difference they are making in the lives of our students,” said Susan Andersen, Director of Development.

Following the tournament, golfers and guests enjoyed dinner at Connecticut National where Head of School Joe Hanrahan spoke passionately about the future of the School and referenced the School’s strategic plan, Vision 2026, which was published this past spring. Following dinner, over 20 items were raffled off and a restaurant tree with various gift certificates to local eateries assured a winner every time. Silent auction items included a two-week stay at a private condo in Melbourne Beach, Florida, a raw bar service provided by 85 Main, and several VIP ticket packages to the Hanover Theatre in Worcester, Massachusetts. In addition, the 50/50 raffle saw the winner take home over $500.
