Observing the Everyday: June H. ’27 Featured in AP Art Showcase Finale
As our AP Art Showcase draws to a close, we are proud to feature our third and final student artist, June H. ’27. June’s collection, eight thoughtfully composed pieces, is currently on display outside the Stuart Family Dining and Community Room through April 19, offering our community one last opportunity to experience the creativity and talent showcased throughout this spring exhibition.

June is from Beijing, China, and brings a global perspective to her work, shaped by early artistic training in a city known for its rich cultural heritage and strong educational traditions.

“I am very thankful for my parents’ support, which gave me the chance to come to the United States to continue studying art,” says June. “Here, I have seen styles and ways of creating art that are very different from what I knew before. I hope to keep learning and growing, and to make better work in the future.”

June’s work explores both figure studies and still life, demonstrating a strong command of observation and form. She often experiments with mixed media, combining materials to achieve specific visual effects. Her drawings feature expressive, confident linework, an approach partly inspired by David Hockney, while her use of color adds depth and energy to each composition. In contrast, her still life pieces lean toward realism, with careful attention to detail and texture, resulting in works that feel both vivid and lifelike.

“Through my art, I hope to share my real observations and feelings about everyday life, also with a better sense of perception and visual presentation,” shares June.

We invite you to stop by and experience June’s work before the exhibit concludes on April 19. Thank you for joining us in celebrating the creativity and dedication of our student artists throughout this year’s AP Art Showcase.
