Mary Kate B. ’27 Receives Prestigious Connecticut Swimming Judy Snow Service Award

MPrep is proud to celebrate Mary Kate (MK) B. ’27 as the recipient of the 2025 Connecticut Swimming Judy Snow Student Athlete Service Award! This award is one of the highest honors and is presented annually to an athlete who exemplifies leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to service within the swimming community.

 

MK received the award from Elizabeth Beisel, three-time Olympian and winner of nine international medals, including two from the 2012 Olympic Games. Being recognized by such an accomplished athlete made the moment especially meaningful.

 

MK’s parents shared what a powerful and humbling moment the award ceremony was, noting the positive impact MPrep has had on MK: “As parents, we know that the opportunities and support she has been given at MPrep strongly contributed to her being recognized for this award.”

 

Expressing surprise and gratitude as the award recipient, MK commented, “I still am not sure how I was chosen; lots of people do amazing things.”

 

In her remarks, MK reflected on the deeper meaning of the sport she loves. “As swimmers, we constantly chase the times we need for those cutoffs at big meets, and then we chase a better time. But what swimming has really taught me is that it is truly a community.”

 

She also offered encouragement to her fellow athletes, saying, “To all the swimmers, remember that the impact we make extends far beyond the pool. Our effort, our character, and our willingness to give back are what truly define us. Thank you again for selecting me for this incredible honor.”
