Give Joy, Get Joy Partners with Make-A-Wish Connecticut for Trunk or Treat
Our Give Joy, Get Joy (GJGJ) club has made our Marianapolis community proud this fall season! Give Joy, Get Joy works with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to support their mission of creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

For the past few weeks, club members have painted pumpkins for Make-A-Wish Connecticut’s 4th annual Trunk or Treat! Club leaders C. Alba ‘25, V. Vo ‘25, and S. Wildes ‘25 dropped off all the decorated pumpkins at Make-A-Wish Connecticut in Trumbull, CT, days before the event for inclusion in the PYO pumpkin patch. During the event, wish kids and their siblings picked out their favorite pumpkins.

Make-A-Wish Connecticut’s Senior Community Development Manager, Christina Alt, shared a beautiful photo of wish kid Destiny with the Hello Kitty pumpkin she picked from the pumpkin patch. The smile on Destiny’s face reminds us that what we are doing is impactful. These are more than just pumpkins. They symbolize hope and joy to children and families who need it most.

This year’s theme of unity is clearly seen in the incredible work GJGJ has been doing. Serving our community and making contributions for the greater good unifies us all. Once again, thank you, Give Joy, Get Joy, for your compassion, generosity, and humility. You inspire us all to live out our Marianapolis mission every day. We are so grateful!
