Marianapolis Admissions is hosting in-person events for the application season, starting with the Open House held on October 17.
"The Open House is a wonderful opportunity for prospective families to get a feel for our community through tours, speaking with students, and hearing from administrators,” said the Associate Director of International Admission Monica Vitale.
Twenty-five prospective families attended the event, where they had opportunities to ask current students and faculty questions, and learned more about the Marianapolis community.
Families got to see the many things Marianapolis has to offer on student-led tours, such as the Innovation Lab, the Athletic Complex, the Blackbox Theater, and more.
Following the tours, parents got to hear from a faculty panel consisting of all the different departments and ask questions. The day closed with a reception held by the Moms of Marianapolis, and each student got a bag of Marianapolis goodies when they left.
“Having been working at Marianapolis since only July 1st of this past summer, the Open House reinforced what I’ve felt about this special school community since I arrived. It’s evident that the faculty and staff are dedicated to their work and are committed to educating each student not only in the classroom, but the athletic fields/courts, Fine and Performing Arts, and other extracurricular activities in the school,” Interim Director of Admission Matt Hoeniger said. “They most importantly want to help students find success here at Marianapolis. They want to see that the students take risks, try new things, step out of their comfort zones and gain the self confidence that will allow them to be contributing members of our school, our surrounding communities, and this ever changing world we live in. Marianapolis students need to be prepared to take on the future of college or whichever path they so choose after graduation.”
More events are planned as the application season continues. Admissions will be hosting a Virtual Open House from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, and an in-person Information Session from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30.
The Admissions team says the best thing about these events is getting to share the Marianapolis community with others.
“It was also reinforced to me that our students truly take pride in Marianapolis and feel safe, well taken care of each day, supported by all, and, most importantly, they can be themselves, truly be themselves. We all can, and that’s a special gift, that’s what makes Marianapolis a family. That’s what makes Marianapolis so special. The School is in the hearts of so many and for that I personally say, ‘Thank you Marianapolis’!” Hoeniger said.
