Co-Ed Varsity Golf
Because in practice he has played incredibly well and improved exponentially since tryouts a few weeks ago, Will Engle ’20 is Knight of the Week. His play has steadily become more focused and his skill development has paid off. In a recent practice, Will scored his first birdie on the par 4 8th hole at Connecticut National Golf Club. Beyond all else, Will is a respectful, kind, hard-working, and driven young man who has quickly become an asset to our team.
Boys’ Varsity Soccer
Shawn Murphy ’19 is this week's Knight of the Week for the boys’ varsity soccer team. Shawn plays a position that is often a thankless task. Holding the back line involves sacrificing the body, making strong tackles, and being physical in the air. Shawn goes above and beyond in all of these categories. He also serves as one of the team’s three captains. Shawn works well with his teammates and also mentors younger players. He is a model of sportsmanship and over his four years on the varsity squad has been a tremendous example for others.
Girls’ Varsity Soccer
Through the first weeks of practice and even in a tough loss, Anna Bagley ’19 has shown incredibly strong leadership and concern for a young squad. She has shown herself to be willing to help others better themselves and models this quality by consistently working to improve her own game. Knowledgeable about the game, she makes every effort to share that knowledge and to elevate the level of play among her teammates. On the field, she perseveres and never gives up, no matter the score. Her leadership qualities have already made the team stronger this year.
